Fisher Funds TWO KiwiSaver Performance – December 2021

Written by

Using the most recent returns and fund update reports from December 2021, we will examine Fisher Funds TWO’s recent KiwiSaver Performance.

Fisher Funds TWO is issued by Fisher Funds, which is the fourth largest KiwiSaver provider in New Zealand. Fisher Funds TWO currently have over 230,000 KiwiSaver members. They offer five different KiwiSaver Funds, ranging from a lower-risk preservation fund to a higher-risk equity fund.

Rising interest rates have pushed bond prices lower and led to negative returns for many sovereign and investment grade bonds indices. New Zealand share market, which has a high proportion of dividend yielding stocks (like electricity generation companies and listed property trusts) could also be more interest rate sensitive and have been impacted by rising rates. As a result, these shares underperformed global markets this year. Global equity markets on the other hand have done a much better job, with both the US and Europe markets outstripping inflation by well over 10%.
